Firefighters contained a 20-acre brush fire near the historic Horseshoe Curve last night after a three-hour battle, according to the Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Department. The blaze, which was first reported around 5 p.m. along Route 22, was halted by a fire line, and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is now investigating.
