Pennsylvania officials are responding to the shooting that happened during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington over the weekend. Governor Josh Shapiro shared his thoughts on social media Saturday night, saying political violence is “never okay”. Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman posted similar messages online, sharing gratitude for law enforcement who stopped the shooter before he took any lives. The gunman has been arrested and identified as 31-year-old California man Cole Tomas Allen. In the meantime, Presidemt Trump says the shooting would never have happened with his new Whitehouse Ballroom. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that the ballroom has every high level security feature available. Ongoing lawsuits over the proposed ballroom have repeatedly stalled the project, much to the President’s frustration.
