Sunday Joins Lawsuit To Block Nexstar-Tegna Merger

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday is now joining an antitrust lawsuit aimed at blocking the merger of two major TV station companies.  California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced last week that Sunday and several other Republican attorneys general have joined a federal lawsuit blocking the merger of Tegna and Nexstar, making it a bipartisan effort.  There are now 13 states represented in the lawsuit, which would stop the companies from owning 264 TV stations in the U.S. Sunday said “Rising TV service subscription costs are already stretching budgets, and this merger would only push those budgets closer to breaking.”
