Former Local Police Officer Accused Of Rape

Former Pennsylvania police officer, 23-year-old Scott Berardinelli of Portage, faces felony charges including rape by forcible compulsion, following accusations that he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old at a Portage Borough gym in December 2020.   According to the criminal affidavit, the suspect was employed by two local police departments, Portage Borough, and Summerhill Township, between January 2024 and June 2025, before the case was reported to authorities.  Berardinelli was arraigned to the Cambria County prison, but has since posted bail.  His preliminary hearing is slated for June 9^th.
