Former Centre Co., Businesswoman Sentenced For Fraud

Former Boalsburg, businesswoman, 69-year-old Kristina Johnson, was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for submitting falsified bank records during bankruptcy proceedings for her Springfield Bed & Breakfast.  Johnson and her husband, who was sentenced to 18 months in March, both pled guilty to charges involving hidden bank accounts and fraudulent reports.  Assistant United States Attorney Geoffrey W. MacArthur prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the FBI, and the United States Bankruptcy Trustee.
