Artists Sought For Gables Building Project

A partnership of local organizations in Altoona is seeking artists to transform 20 boarded-up window panels on the historic Gable’s building into murals ahead of major summer events, like the celebration of America’s 250^th birthday and the arrival of the “Big Boy” steam engine.  The project aims to beautify the site during its transition under the Altoona Blair County Development Corp., with artist applications due by June 3 and a $150 stipend offered to selected participants.  To apply go to artsaltoona.org.
