The Altoona Mirror reports that police arrested 30 year old Dalton Claar last week for allegedly choking a 70 year old relative after she refused to give him money. Claar reportedly asked the victim for money, and when she said she had none, Claar allegedly put his hands around her throat and choked her. The victim got away and called police. Claar was arrested at the home a short time later, and he told police that the victim is the one who should be arrested for scratching his arm. Claar is charged with felony strangulation, along with simple assault, drug use and possession and harassment. His is locked up in the Blair County jail on $50,000 bond.
