Teachers walked off the job on Monday to protest contract negotiations that they do not favor. One of the major sticking points is a provision concerning medical benefits. News reports suggest that the district is offering a plan that would remove certain spouses from the district medical plan for teachers. As expected, there are varying opinions concerning the strike. With many parents backing the teachers. But many if not all feel that the longer the strike goes on, the more students will become affected. There are no meetings scheduled as of today to try and resolve the dispute.
