A Mill Hall man is in custody after a chase and shootout right over the Centre County line. State Police in Clinton County say 42-year-old Brandon Bitner opened fire on troopers trying to serve a warrant at a home in Bald Eagle Township Tuesday night, then got in his vehicle and drove off. Bitner then reportedly pulled into Lykens Market and kept shooting at troopers, who returned fire and hit him. Bitner was taken to UPMC Williamsport with non-life-threatening injuries, while no officers were injured. Bitner is facing charges that include attempted criminal homicide of law enforcement officers, recklessly endangering, and other related counts. Bitner is currently awaiting arraignment.
