The Centre County Board of Commissioners recognized Centre County PAWS of State College, and approved a $1,000 donation to support the emergency care of 43 dogs rescued from a local home in a suspected hoarding situation. Following a humane investigation by the Centre County Sheriff’s Office, the dogs were surrendered to the shelter in March, prompting officials to praise the organization’s rapid response to the crisis.
