State police report that 23-year-old Austin Reams of Oseola Mills is facing felony charges including aggravated indecent assault of a child, and other related counts, after a two-year-old girl identified him as her abuser, following a medical examination that indicated assault. The investigation began after police were called to the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College for the report of a sexual assault of a 2-year-old. According to the criminal complaint, the victim’s mother told police she occasionally left her toddler in Reams’ care. During Easter weekend, Reams’ girlfriend was away, leaving him alone with the child. Afterward, the mother noticed a disturbing change: the girl, who previously had no trouble sleeping, began waking up multiple times a night, screaming in fear. Reams was released on $100,000 bail, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 22.
