Local police officers and Special Olympics athletes braved cold rain yesterday to carry the “Flame of Hope” through Altoona, completing a segment of the 150-mile Law Enforcement Torch Run designed to raise awareness for the upcoming Summer Games. Now in its 15th year, the three-day, 53-leg statewide event brought together 300+ officers to promote inclusion and support athletes ahead of the June 4-6 competition at Penn State University.
