Clearfield DA Says Threats Against Borough Officials Unfounded

Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers has deemed alleged threats against Clearfield Borough officials unfounded, stating a police review found only a “vulgar” message directed at a council member rather than a credible threat.  Despite this finding, borough officials closed administrative offices for two days and canceled a council meeting following initial concerns for staff safety, stating the decision was made after a series of repeated threats were made against elected officials, staff, and their families.
