A report in the Altoona Mirror suggests that the board rejected a budget proposal that would have raised property taxes by 0.4 mills. The board settled for a smaller increase of 0.2 mills. The higher millage would have raised an additional $90,000. Superintendent Lisa Murgas told the mirror that little increases made over a period of time would save a much larger increase from being made down the road if. The agreed to increase will bring in $45,000, and will still leave the district with a deficit of more than $510,000. One board member was quoted as saying, one of the only places the board can cut is the athletic program. In athletics, the board accepted the resignation of head Football coach Ryan Hileman. Williamsburg players will once again merge with Juniata Valley for the 2022 season. The board also approve the hiring of Jen Frederick to become the new Jr/Sr high principal.
