Thomas was found guilty yesterday on 6 counts against him for the September 2021 rape of a Windber woman inside her home. Attorney General Michelle Henry said in a prepared statement that this was a horrible crime committed by a once trusted public servant of the people of Somerset County and of Pennsylvania. Thomas was accused of entering the victim s home by force, and refused to leave. He then raped the victim. Thomas now faces years behind bars, and Judge Tim Creany recommended that a sexually violent predator assessment be performed. Thomas is scheduled to be sentenced on May 16th.
