News reports indicate that a group of people in the St. Michael area of the county were given a check for $2 million by the PA Lottery. The group known as the “St. Michael nine” won the money from the Powerball jackpot drawing back on February 22nd. The group hit all 5 numbers drawn, but did not have the red Powerball number. But the multiplier option was in play, which doubled their $1 million winning ticket to $2 million. Each of the nine winners will get a little more than $162,000 after taxes.
