Electric Rate Request Put On Hold

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has voted to suspend and investigate FirstEnergy’s proposed rate increase for electric distribution services. FirstEnergy is seeking an annual revenue increase of slightly more than 500 million dollars. FirstEnergy provides services to customers in the Penelec, Med-Ed, Penn Power, and West Penn Power Rate Districts, which serve over 2 million customers in 56 counties across the Commonwealth. The Commission voted 5-0 to investigate the rate increase request, which was filed several weeks ago.
