The trial of 26 year-year Austin Kline began in Ebensburg yesterday regarding the 2023 murder and dismemberment of Altoona landscaper, 55-year-old Richard Morgan, with prosecutors describing the scene as a “complete abandonment of human decency.” Testimony detailed the discovery of Morgan’s remains in Kline’s South Fork, Cambria County garage, following conflicting accounts from the defendant, and the recovery of a bloody shovel and other weapons. In 2023 Morgan was shot and killed by Kline, reportedly because of a dispute related to excavation work. Morgan was meeting with Kline to do landscaping when he was killed. The trial is expected to resume today, and is scheduled to run through May 12th.
