A person of interest is in custody following a fatal shooting on the 600 block of Somerset Street in Johnstown’s Kernville neighborhood on yesterday morning. The victim, a man in his 30s, was found with a chest wound, prompting a multi-agency investigation that includes the Cambria County DA’s office and federal partners. This incident follows recent escalating violence across the Johnstown region. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy is planned for today.
